MT: The Lost Highway: Chapter 4
The truck’s brake squealed loudly in protest as the sheep slammed on the brakes with all her weight on the gas pedal, bracing herself as best as she could with her feet and hands white knuckling the steering wheel. The sound of bodies thumping against the tailgate, intermixed with cursing, was rather pleasant to Core’s ears. Despite this, the cougar didn’t falter. Still gripping her mangled paw in the vice like grip of her prosthetic hand, Core positioned her arm just enough to shove the cougar back as she released the hand. “Drive.” Core said to Agatha before she clambered her way to the door. Opening it, she gave herself just enough room to swing herself out of the truck, up onto the back of the truck with the cougar female. “Core! Are you crazy?!” She could hear Agatha’s voice call through the broken window, but she still listened. The truck started to drive off, leaving the raiders that had crashed into the back of her truck trying to untangle themselves and give chase.
